UX/UI Case Study

Role: UX and UI research and design

Duration: 2 weeks

create a conceptual app to help adults with public speaking skills

Goal

Project Overview

A conceptual app to assist adults with improving their public speaking skills. The app's concept allows for users practice their skills on their own with a tutor, or participate and organize events to continue their skills.

The Challenge

Many adults that are interested in improving their public speaking skills have busy schedules and their own way of learning. It is important to provide an easy-to-use tool for users to access from their smartphones and improve their skills.

The Approach

To create an app that allows users to easily work on their public speaking skills at their own pace, and in their own way.

"As someone who is interested in improving their skills in public speaking for work, I need an app that allows me to work with tutors within my schedule and am able to join groups to work on my skills."

Goals

to be able to easily find a tutor to work with me one on one

I would also like access to other tools to help improve my public speaking skills on my own

"I would like to be able to use an app that allows me to easily find tutors to help with my public speaking skills, and assist with other tools to continue improving my skills."

Frustrations

It is sometimes difficult to get feedback when posting online, and it would help to have an organized space with encouragement for feedback

Findings

Round 1

icons and photos should be larger so that users are able to see them clearly and navigate easily

map page should be broken up more so the search function is larger and easier to use

there should be an added confirmation page so the ordering process is not abrupt

Round 2

there should be an added section for users to save their favorites, for easy ordering

there should be points that users can accumulate for deals from trucks

weekly schedules for trucks should be added so users can plan ahead
